Description:

Welcome to I SURVIVED: The San Francisco Earthquake 1906, a course designed to develop strong reading skills for 1st ,2nd and 3rd graders through building vocabulary, class discussions, and quizzes and games. We will be reading the fifth book of Lauren Tarshis’ I SURVIVED series, The San Francisco Earthquake 1906. Below is a reading plan of the book.

 

How Many: 5 Classes

 

Reading Plan:

Class 1 - Chapters 1-3

Class 2 - Chapters 4-6

Class 3 - Chapters 7-9

Class 4 - Chapters 10-12

Class 5- Chapters 13-14

 

When: 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15

Introduction: MATHCOUNTS Training for 4th-6th Graders who want to challenge themselves and prepare for their first competitive math experience.

In this course, we will cover the basic ideas for the MATHCOUNTS competition and learn some tricks to improve the speed of which you solve math problem.

 

How Many: 6 Classes

When: Class meets on  every Sunday for 6 weeks starts on March 31  @   5:30 PT /  7:30 CT /  8:30 ET

Math Kangaroo is a yearly math competition for grades K-12. This class will analyze and solve past competition questions for 1st and 2nd grade.

​

We will have 4 classes, Each class, we will review a different year’s competition paper.

Class meets every Monday @ 5pm-6pm CT( 6-7pm ET/ 3-4pmPT)

Introduction: An interactive reading course that will cover everything from mutated animals to how telescopes work. Suitable for students that want to explore the world of science and think creatively. Includes plenty of discussion, fun reviews, and videos.

 

How Many Classes: 6

 

**Notice: Each session we will read through ONE of the following magazines shown on the poster. The magazines will rotate around, making 6 unique sessions for your child to enroll in! Instructor will send further details about which magazine is currently in rotation once you sign up.

 

When: every Tuesday* at 6:00 pm-7:00 pm CT (4:00 pm-5:00 pm PT/7:00 pm-8:00 pm ET)   *In case of a holiday class will instead take place the week after

Course Description:

This course will introduce the foundation of math, algebra, and the many uses it has in real life. Includes plenty of discussion, cool games, videos, and other activities.

Class 4 - Introduction into factoring

Class 5 - More factoring

When: every Saturday* 5:30-6:30 pm est (4:30-5:30 pm cst,/2:30-3:30 pm pst)  *In case of a holiday class will instead take place the week after

 

Classes will start once the 6 slots been filled

Introduction: In this class, students will learn about the building blocks of the universe: Elements. Over this course, students will learn about the categories of the 118 elements along with the characteristics, applications, history, and fun facts about the first 36 elements. Students will also learn about an influential chemist in every class.

How many classes: 8

Topics:
Day 1- Basic Concepts of Chemistry and the Periodic Table
Day 2- Introduction of the Categories of Elements
Day 3- Nonmetals
Day 4- Transition Metals
Day 5- Halogens
Day 6- Alkali Metals
Day 7- Alkaline Earth Metals, Poor Metals, Metalloids
Day 8- Noble Gases + Review Game

Classes will commence once 8 slots are filled.
